Richard Paxton is a Texas-licensed attorney and the founding attorney of Remedy Consumer Law, a consumer protection law firm focused on matters involving inaccurate credit reporting and background check errors under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). He is also the founder of Paxton Law Firm, a Houston-based law firm.
Mr. Paxton has been licensed to practice law in the State of Texas since 1997. He earned his undergraduate degree from St. Edward’s University and his law degree from South Texas College of Law Houston. He is admitted to practice before Texas state courts and maintains his primary practice in Houston, Texas.
Early in his legal career, Mr. Paxton served as an Assistant District Attorney in Tyler, Texas. In that role, he gained courtroom experience and developed a foundation in trial preparation, evidentiary review, and legal advocacy. Following his time as a prosecutor, he transitioned into private practice, where his work has included representing individuals in civil litigation matters.
